The Second Annual DFW Dog Walk of the Dead Zombie 5k will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Texas Live! Share a fun evening with us at Texas Live! and Richard Green Linear Park where Zombies have taken over and only the brave will survive! Make your way through the trails and avoid having your flags taken by zombie's that are running the race too!
HUMAN RUNNER - Complete in the CHIPPED AND TIMED RACE WITH A CUSTOM RACE BIB. Runners will try to avoid the zombies and dodge the zombie roamers. Human runners will wear a survival belt with 3 flags on it, with the goal of finishing the race with all the flags. Those that finish with at least 1 flag will finish as a SURVIVOR and those that finish without any flags finish as an INFECTED ZOMBIE . $40 includes a t-shirt. Registration up until Monday 21st, midnight. Day of registration w/shirt: $45, without t-shirt $35.
ZOMBIE ROAMERS - Dressed as a ZOMBIE. These roamers are providing interference and also are trying to grab flags from the humans. Roamers will be limited to a specifically assigned area and all Zombie Roamers get a souvenir Roamer shirt.. Roamer: $15.
ZOMBIE 1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK - This is a 1 mile run/walk that you can do with or without your canine companion. This will start 30 minutes after the 5k starts. Feel free to dress up still and dress up your dog too!

DOG WALK WITH AGILITY - 6 stations of dog ability will be positioned along the path for you and your furry friend to participate in. $25 (includes a t-shirt), all Dog Walk participants get a "doggie goodie bag" (valued over $125)! Add add'l dogs for $10 (includes a Doggy Goody Bag), Add a "will bark for brains" bandana for $5 each.
DOGGIE YOGA - Participate in a 50 minute
yoga session with puppies! Yours or adoptable dogs - promising to be a
unique experience. $25, add a t-shirt for $10 or a "will bark for
brains" bandana for $5.
RESCUE DOG WALK - If you are a foster for a rescue that is with a 501c-3 rescue group, walk in the dog walk/agility course for a reduced rate! Be sure to have your dog identified with an "adopt me" bandana or vest so the public know this fabulous dog is available for adoption! Fully vaccinated dogs only, must be chipped and sterilized and be friendly. Originating rescue group assume any responsibility for behavior of dog. Vet records must be on site. Participants get a "doggie goodie bag". $10, Add a "will bark for brains" bandana for $5.

All runner participants will take home a finisher's medal based on finishing as a SURVIVOR or INFECTED ZOMBIE . Fun awards will also be given to participants with the best Human and best dog zombie costume, The highest fundraising team and more to be determined later. Check back for updates!
There will be a fun after party at Texas Live! in The Backyard, with live music courtesy of the GARAGE DOOR BOYS, vendors, games, doggie yoga and other fun activities. Enjoy food from any of the restaurants that are part of Texas Live! The venue will be open at 4pm for check-in, last minute registrations and packet pickups. Spectators are welcome to hang out in the Backyard or watch along the route of the race but watch out for Zombies!
3 rescue groups have come together to put together this fabulous event - ANGELS 2 THE RESCUE, MID CITIES ANIMAL RESCUE AND WHITE ROCK DOG RESCUE. All proceeds raised will help these groups Rescue animals from local animal shelters, focusing on "Code Red" (at-risk and injured) animals in need of immediate attention and to Educate the public on the importance of Spay & Neuter programs and all the low-cost options available in our community. These groups rescue unwanted, abandoned, injured, or ill companion animals -- primarily from "high kill" shelters and owner surrenders. These these animals will be placed in foster homes where they can receive proper veterinary care, rehabilitation, and rest in order to prepare them to go to their forever homes. The intent is to work within our community and educate pet owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their companion animals in order to assist with the reduction of unwanted animals. The groups also focus on programs that educate both our community and potential adopters on the fact that animals are a lifelong commitment -- and to help them realistically prepare for that commitment.

7:00 pm: DJ Starts playing music .....
8:00 pm: THE GARAGE DOOR BOYS start playing!
11:00 pm: End Time for after party.
**No Dogs allowed during the 5k Run. Dogs will only be allowed on the 1 Mile Fun Run and at the after party**

Please join us for some live music, vendors, good food and drinks (at participants own expense at any of the restaurants on site) and other fun activities. Dogs will be allowed inside the venue (please be mindful and pickup after your pooch if they have an accident. Dog sitters will be available as well).

The DFW Dog Walk of The Dead 5k will take place rain or shine! Only in extreme cases, will the event get postponed or canceled. Should severe weather be a problem, please check our website for any changes.
